It is extremely easy to clean and the built-in limescale filter - also partially made with stainless steel - ensures better flavor. The snug-fit filter also seals the spout when the lid is closed, thereby keeping spillage to an absolute minimum even when the kettle is accidentally knocked.  The lid opens to a maximum of 70 degrees to prevent direct contact with hot steam. An additional safety feature is the built-in dry boil and overheating protection that automatically switches off the kettle to prevent damage to the heating element. Removing the kettle from the docking station also automatically switches it off.
